Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: medium to high stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 1.5 cm, other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece
- Lower front part – 1 piece
- Middle front part – 2 pieces
- Upper front part – 4 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Tie – 1 piece
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
Sewing Instructions
- Fold the middle front pieces right sides together and stitch the corner between the “o” marks. Clip the seam allowances at the corner.
- Fold the middle front pieces right sides together along the upper edge line. Stitch the section from mark to mark “o”. Clip the seam allowances at the mark, turn the piece right side out.
- Fold the upper front pieces right sides together, insert the middle front piece between them and stitch. The seam runs from the side to the shoulder edge. Turn the pieces right side out and press. Then treat as one piece.
- Clip the seam allowance between the notches on the upper edge of the lower front piece. Serge the edge, fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
- Stitch the middle and lower front pieces, press and serge the seam allowances.
- Serge the outer edge of the back neckline facing. Fold the facing and back right sides together and stitch the neckline edge (start and end the stitch exactly at the marked shoulder seam line). Trim the seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Stitch the shoulder edges, inserting the front piece between the back and back facing. Press the seam allowances towards the back and serge. Topstitch the facing to the back along the lower edge.
- Stitch the side edges, press the seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Serge the lower edge of the sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press and serge the seam allowances.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the length of the lower armhole + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding along the armhole edge, right side up, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the seam allowances and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Serge the lower edge of the garment, fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
- Fold the tie in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the piece right side out, straighten and press. Thread the tie through the opening on the front piece and tie.
