Sewing Instructions

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker. Before doing this, trim allowances to 0.7 cm.

  1. Stitch the outer back yoke to the back. Press seam allowances towards the facing.
  2. Along the upper edge of the front from the mark to the center edge, make a basting stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Stitch the outer front yoke to the front. Press seam allowance towards the facing.
  3. Stitch the shoulder seams of the blouse. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
  4. Finish the upper corners of the plackets. Turn plackets right side out and press. Stitch plackets to the right side of the front along the long edge, stopping 1 cm from the bottom. Overlock seam allowances. Clip the front allowance at the corners, stopping 1 mm from the stitching. Tuck the ends of the plackets inside, align flush, and stitch, securing the bottom edge. Overlock the bottom edge.
  5. Stitch the shoulder seams of the inner yokes. Press seam allowances open. Overlock the outer edge of the inner yoke.
  6. Place yokes right sides together and stitch the neckline edge and the center front edge. The placket is positioned between the yokes. Clip seam allowances. Turn the inner yoke to the wrong side and press. Secure the inner yoke into the stitching seam of the outer yoke.
  7. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock seam allowance and press towards the back. Set in the sleeve, overlock seam allowance.
  8. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  9. Overlock buttonholes on the right placket. Sew buttons on the left placket.
