Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: low-stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: knit fusible interfacing; 1 invisible zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back – 2 pieces
    • Side back – 2 pieces
    • Side front – 2 pieces
    • Center front – 2 pieces
    • Back sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Front sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing - 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to facing pieces.
  2. Stitch the princess seams on the back, press seam allowances towards the center and serge. Stitch the princess seams on the front, press seam allowances towards the center and serge.
  3. Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark downwards. Press seam allowances open, pressing the opening for the zipper. Insert the zipper.
  4. Stitch the center front seam from the mark to the bottom, press seam allowances open, serge.
  5. Attach the back sleeve pieces to the back, press seam allowances towards the sleeve and serge. Attach the front sleeve pieces to the front, press seam allowances towards the sleeve and serge.
  6. Stitch the upper sleeve edges, press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Stitch the lower sleeve edges and side seams in one continuous line, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  7. Stitch the shoulder seams and the front center seam from the mark to the bottom of the facings, press seam allowances open. Serge the bottom edge. Place the facing on the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge and front opening, clip seam allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure the facing to the zipper tape and shoulder seams.
  8. Serge the hem allowance of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
