Fitted Sleeveless Dress with Pockets

Pattern #2211
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance — 2.0 cm, other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

    • Front — 1 piece on fold

  3. Fold the pocket placket in half lengthwise, right side up, and press. Stitch the pocket placket to the upper edge of the pocket. Overlock the allowance and press it towards the pocket. Place the finished pocket on the cut-on side panel of the front and secure along the princess seam and side edges. Stitch the princess seam of the front. Overlock the allowances, clip at curves, and press towards the center.
  4. Stitch the side and shoulder seams. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back.
  5. Stitch the shoulder edges of the facings. Press the allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the facing on the right side of the dress and stitch the neckline. Clip the allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Secure the facing at the shoulder seams and the zipper tape.
  6. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge on the right side and stitch. Turn the binding to the wrong side, clip the allowances, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
