Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, the patterns include seam allowances; if the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance of the garment and sleeve hem – 2.0 cm. Other allowances – 1.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 2 pieces
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces
    • Pocket bag – 4 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing. Also, interface the allowance for attaching the lower pocket bag on the front.
  2. Stitch the darts on the back pieces, press the dart depths towards the center. Serge the center back edges separately, stitch them from the zipper mark to the bottom, press the allowances open. Insert the zipper.
  3. Clip the allowances at the pocket mark. Attach the pocket bags to the front. Serge the allowances. Stitch the shaped seam of the front, simultaneously finishing the pocket bag. Serge the allowance.
  4. Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Serge the allowances and press towards the back.
  5. Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings, press the allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing on the dress right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip the allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Secure the facing to the zipper tape.
  6. Stitch the sleeve seam. Serge the allowance and press towards the back. Set the sleeve into the armhole according to the notches, serge the allowance and press.
  7. Serge the hem allowance of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
