Fabric recommendations: suiting fabric made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interlining; lining; 3 buttons; 1 inner button; shoulder pads, sleeve heads.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the garment and sleeve hem – 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). Attention! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Center right front – 1 piece
    • Center left front – 1 piece
    • Side front – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Left front facing – 1 piece
    • Right front facing – 1 piece
  • FROM FUSIBLE INTERLINING: back neckline facing, right front facing, left front facing.

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Reinforce pieces with fusible interlining.
  2. On the back, stitch the darts. Press the dart allowances towards the center. Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the allowances and press to the left side.
  3. On the front, stitch the princess seams. Overlock the allowances and press towards the center.
  4. Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the dress-jacket. Overlock the allowances and press towards the back.
  5. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock the allowance and press towards the back. Set the sleeves into the armholes according to the notches. Insert shoulder pads, sew in sleeve heads.
  6. Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline facing and front facings. Overlock the outer edge.
  7. Place the front facing on the right side of the front, right side down, pin and stitch along the front edge, bottom, and neckline. Clip the allowances, trim the corner. Turn the front facing and neckline facing to the wrong side and press.
  8. Overlock the hem allowance of the dress-jacket and sleeve, fold to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
  9. On the right front, make buttonholes, and on the left front, sew on buttons. On the left front, make an inner buttonhole and sew on an inner button.
