Fabric recommendations: medium stretch knit fabric, guipure or lace with elastane. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: knit bias tape.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the dress - 1.5 cm; hem allowance for the sleeve and neckline – 0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back - 2 pieces
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Neckline binding — 1 piece
- From main fabric 1:
- Back sleeve part – 2 pieces
- Front sleeve part – 2 pieces
ATTENTION! The neckline binding pattern is necessary to equalize the neckline length. Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on back pieces. Press darts towards the center seam. Stitch the center back seam. Overcast the allowance and press to the left side.
- Attach sleeve to back. Overcast the allowance and press towards the back. Attach sleeve to front. Overcast the allowance and press towards the front.
- Stitch the upper edges of the sleeves. Overcast allowances and press towards the back. Stitch side seams simultaneously with sleeve seams.
- Stitch with a loosened upper thread along the front neckline between the marks. Gather this section. Bind the neckline with bias tape.
- Along the lower edge of the sleeve, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Bind the sleeve hem with bias tape.
- Overcast the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
