Knit Blouse With Collar Stand Chiffon Sleeves

Pattern #2120
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: Medium stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers. Chiffon.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2.0 cm, all other seams - 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Sleeve facing – 2 pieces
  • From chiffon:
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker. Before doing this, trim allowances to 0.7 cm.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch shoulder and side seams of back and front, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  2. Fold the collar stand in half lengthwise, right side out, and using steam-ironing, give it an arched shape, pressing the fold. Ensure that the neckline attachment edge does not stretch.
  3. Stitch the collar stand into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the collar stand in half lengthwise, right side out, and attach to the neckline (collar stand seam matches the left shoulder seam), press allowances and serge.
  4. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Along the upper edge of the sleeve, closer to the marks, create and secure small pleats. Set the sleeve into the armhole, press allowances and serge.
  5. Stitch the sleeve facing into a loop, press allowances open. Attach the facing to the sleeve, folding it right side to the wrong side of the sleeve. Press allowances, fold the facing to the right side. Fold the raw edge of the facing inwards and topstitch onto the sleeve.
  6. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
