CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:
  • Front – 1 piece on fold
  • Back – 2 pieces
  • Front yoke – 1 piece
  • Collar – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Collar – 1 piece

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker. Before doing this, trim allowances to 0.7 cm.

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the upper collar.
2. Stitch the center back seam. Overlock allowances and press to the left side.
3. Along the upper edge of the front, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the upper edge of the front. Overlock allowance and press upwards.
4. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
5. Fold collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the corners and outer edge. Clip allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the collar right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the collar to the neckline, press allowance towards the collar. Fold the allowance of the inner collar inwards by 1 cm and topstitch into the attachment seam.
6. Cut (or use ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip allowances, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
7. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
