CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Front side panel – 2 pieces
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- From rib knit fabric:
- Neckline facing – 1 piece
- Bottom facing – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- From lining fabric:
- Pocket bag – 4 pieces
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch the pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
Sewing Instructions
- Attach pocket bags to the front and front side panel. Finish seam allowances. Stitch the front's contoured edge, simultaneously stitching the pocket bag edges. Finish seam allowances and press towards the center.
- Stitch shoulder seams. Finish seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Set sleeves into open armholes. Finish seam allowances and press towards the sleeve. Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Finish seam allowance and press towards the back.
- Stitch the neckline facing into a ring. Press seam allowances open. Fold in half lengthwise and press. Attach the facing to the neckline, stretching slightly. Finish seam allowances and press towards the facing.
- Stitch the cuff into a ring. Press seam allowances open. Fold in half lengthwise and press. Attach the cuff to the sleeve hem, stretching slightly. Finish seam allowances and press towards the facing.
- Stitch the bottom facing into a ring. Press seam allowances open. Fold in half lengthwise and press. Attach the facing to the front and back, stretching slightly. Finish seam allowances and press towards the facing.
