Asymmetric Wrap Front Pencil Skirt

• From main fabric:
  • Back panel – 2 pieces
  • Front panel – 2 pieces
  • Back facing – 2 pieces
  • Front facing – 1 piece
• FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
  • Back facing – 2 pieces
  • Front facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the facing pieces.
2. Stitch darts on the back panel pieces, press the dart allowances towards the center. Overcast the center edges of the back panel separately on each piece. Stitch the center seam from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
3. Overcast the bias edge of the front panel. Fold the integrated facing to the right side and stitch the bottom corner. Turn the facing to the wrong side, press. Lay the right front panel over the left, aligning the center line, and topstitch along the marked line.
4. Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back panel and overcast.
5. Stitch the side edges of the facings, press allowances open. Overcast the bottom edge. Place the facing on the garment with right sides together and stitch the top edge. Topstitch the allowances to the facing 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Fold the facing to the wrong side, press. Fold under the center edges of the facing and sew to the zipper tape. Also secure the facing to the side seams.
6. Overcast the bottom edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
