Round Neck Short Sleeve Patch Pocket Dress

CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 2 pieces
  • Front - 1 piece on fold
  • Sleeve - 2 pieces
  • Pocket - 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 4 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the neckline facing pieces.
2. Stitch darts on the back and front pieces. Press waist dart allowances towards the center, bust darts upwards.
3. Attach the back neckline facing to the back, press allowances towards the facing. Attach the front neckline facing to the front, press allowances towards the facing.
4. Overlock the center back edges separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the notch for the zipper to the hem, press allowances open. Insert the zipper.
5. Overlock the pocket along the contour. Press the top allowance of the pocket to the wrong side and topstitch. Press the side and bottom allowances to the wrong side. Topstitch the pocket onto the front according to the markings.
6. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
7. Stitch the shoulder seams of the inner facings, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and topstitch into the seam of the outer facing attachment.
8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and overlock. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press allowances and overlock.
9. Overlock the hem allowance of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
