Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface the designated pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center and overcast. Stitch the center back seam, press seam allowances to the left and overcast.
  3. Stitch the front princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center and overcast.
  4. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  5. Place collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the ends and outer edge. Start and end stitching precisely at the marked collar attachment line. Trim seam allowances at corners, clip at the mark. Turn collar right side out, shape, and press.
  6. Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline facing and front facing. Overcast the outer edge.
  7. Place the front facing on the right side of the front piece, right side down, pin, and stitch along the front edge. Stitch upwards to the notch indicating the end of the collar attachment. Trim seams at corners. Topstitch the seam allowance of the front edge: in the fastener area – to the front facing, in the lapel area – to the front piece. Position the stitching 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the front edges right side out, shape the seams.
  8. Attach the under collar to the dress neckline, and the upper collar to the neckline of the back facing and front facing. Clip the collar attachment seam allowances, press open, and secure close to the seams.
  9. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias strip 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 6 cm. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the bias strip along the armhole edge, right side together, and stitch. Fold the bias strip to the wrong side, clip seam allowances, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  10. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  11. On the right front, make buttonholes; on the left front, sew on buttons.
