Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: SHANJAN TAFFETA. Also needed: separating ZIPPER, metal or plastic BONING, dense ORGANZA for interlining.
CUTTER'S MUST
If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Seam allowance on the left side (FOR ZIPPER INSERTION) of the garment - 2 cm. Other seams - 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width should be at least 140 cm) to determine how much material you will need.
- From TAFFETA:
- All CORSET pieces, draped inserts, and straps. (It is recommended to use TAFFETA for the lining as well.)
- From dense ORGANZA:
- All main CORSET pieces
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match! Try to observe the GRAIN LINE direction.
- Metal or plastic BONING, 2 cm shorter than the seam length, should be inserted into the BODICE seams (for ease of processing).
- ZIPPER in the left side seam.
- The draped part of the front and back is gathered along all edges to the required dimensions and secured with hand blind stitches to the sewn front and back with BONING, without lining. All draping must be done manually on a mannequin, and excess fabric trimmed if necessary. Only then is the CORSET finished with lining.
