Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse corresponding pieces with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
  2. Stitch darts on the BACK PANEL. Press darts towards the center seam.
  3. On both BACK PANEL center pieces, fuse the vent from the wrong side. Overlock the center seam allowance of the BACK PANEL separately on each piece, simultaneously overlocking the vent. Stitch the center seam of the BACK PANEL from the top edge to the upper NOTCH, and from the lower NOTCH to the edge of the vent. Clip the corner of the vent seam allowance on the right side. Press the center seam allowances open. Press the right side of the vent by 1 cm and topstitch. Press the vent allowances and secure with machine stitching. Insert the ZIPPER into the opening.
  4. Stitch the princess seams of the BACK PANEL, press allowances towards the center, overlock.
  5. Stitch the princess seams of the FRONT PANEL bottom parts, press allowances towards the center, overlock. Stitch the princess seams of the FRONT PANEL bottom parts from the LINING fabric, press allowances towards the center, overlock. Press the bottom of the LINING twice to the wrong side and topstitch.
  6. Place the main fabric pieces and LINING pieces with wrong sides together and secure along the top and side edges. Press the Belt in half lengthwise, right side out. Overlock the longitudinal edge of the inner side. Attach the outer side of the Belt to the top edge, press allowances towards the Belt. Topstitch the Belt into the attaching seam.
  7. Attach the non-interfaced FRONT PANEL center top part to the side part. Clip the allowance and press towards the center part. Form and secure the pleats on the FRONT PANEL side part.
  8. Stitch the shoulder seams, clip allowances at curves and press open.
  9. Stitch BACK PANEL FACING 1 and BACK PANEL FACING 2 together, press allowances open. Attach the BACK PANEL LINING to the FACING, press allowances towards the FACING. Overlock the center seam allowances. Stitch the center seam from the top to the upper NOTCH, and from the lower NOTCH to the bottom. Stitch the princess seams of the BACK PANEL LINING, press allowances towards the center and overlock. Press the bottom of the LINING twice to the wrong side and topstitch.
  10. Stitch the interfaced FRONT PANEL center top part to the LINING of the side part, clip the allowance and press towards the center part.
  11. Stitch the shoulder seams of the LINING, clip allowances at curves and press open.
  12. Place the LINING and the main garment with right sides together and stitch the neckline, part of the front edge of the FRONT PANEL, the bottom edge of the FRONT PANEL, and the armhole edges, ending the stitching precisely at the marked side seam line on the BACK PANEL side. Clip allowances at curves, turn the garment right side out.
  13. Place the top part of the FRONT PANEL over the bottom part and secure along the side edge.
  14. Insert the front between the LINING and the main BACK PANEL fabric and stitch the side seams. Overlock allowances, press towards the BACK PANEL, turn the garment right side out.
  15. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
  16. Thread the front center edges through the ZIPPER openings, adjust length, trim if necessary, overlock and topstitch.
