Sewing Instructions
- Finish the neckline edge of the upper FRONT PANEL with a 'French seam' (also known as a 'Moscow seam'). To do this, press the SEAM ALLOWANCE to the wrong side by 1.5 cm, stitch 0.1-0.2 cm from the fold. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCE close to the stitching. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCE again and stitch along the previous line. Press the seam.
- Finish the lower edge of the yoke with a 'French seam'. Attach the yoke to the lower FRONT PANEL along the upper and side edges.
- Stitch with loosely tensioned stitches 0.5 cm from the edge along the lower edge of the upper FRONT PANEL. Gather between the NOTCHES. Stitch the upper and lower FRONT PANELs together with the yoke. Note: Align edges from the side seam; the upper FRONT PANEL does not reach the corner of the lower part by 2 cm. Press the seam downwards and serge.
- Stitch the LACE TRIM pieces along the bias edge. Press the seam open and serge. On the upper FRONT PANEL, mark a line 0.5 cm from the neckline edge. Place the LACE TRIM edge along the marked line, aligning the corner and the mark on the yoke. Topstitch the lace.
- Fold the waistband pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the long and bias edges. Turn the waistband right side out and press.
- Finish the neckline edge of the BACK PANEL with a 'French seam'. Stitch the upper and lower BACK PANELs. Press the seam downwards and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder and side edges, inserting the waistband into the side seam. Serge and press the shoulder and side seams towards the BACK PANEL.
- Stitch the lower edge of the SLEEVE. Serge the seam and press towards the BACK PANEL. Serge the SLEEVE hem and the SLEEVE shoulder edges from the cap to the SLEEVE hem with a narrow rolled hem. Stitch the section of the SLEEVE shoulder seam from the cap to the NOTCH.
- Set the SLEEVE into the armhole. Serge the seam and press.
- Serge the lower edge of the top with a narrow rolled hem.
