Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on BACK PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center of the piece.
- On the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL pieces, create box pleats parallel to the shoulder edge according to the markings. Secure the pleats along the edges. Create and secure the pleats on the FRONT PANEL neckline.
- On the FRONT PANEL, clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at the corners near the NOTCHES. Fold the FRONT PANEL piece right sides together, aligning the curved edges, and stitch from the notch to the end of the edge. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE, clip. Fold the resulting tie so that the seam is in the middle and stitch the straight edge. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCE, turn the tie right side out.
- Fold the FRONT PANEL pieces together and stitch the upper and lower center edges. Press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the upper part, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the lower part to the left side and serge.
- Serge and stitch the horizontal edges of the FRONT PANEL using elastic thread.
- Serge the center edge of the BACK PANEL. Insert the ZIPPER from the upper edge to the notch. Fold back the lower part of the ZIPPER and stitch the center edge of the BACK PANEL from the notch downwards. Press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- Stitch the side and shoulder edges. Press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the shoulder seams, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the side seams towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the neckline FACINGS of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL. Stitch the shoulder and side edges, press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES, serge the lower edge of the FACINGS. Stitch the neckline of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL. Clip the seam at the curves, turn the FACING out and press. Stitch the center edge of the FACING to the ZIPPER tape. Stitch the armhole in two steps: from the shoulder seam to the side seam on the BACK PANEL side and from the shoulder seam to the side seam on the FRONT PANEL side.
- Press the hem allowance of the dress to the wrong side, fold in another 1 cm and topstitch.
