CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- 1. Upper BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
- 2. Lower BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
- 3. BACK PANEL Insert – 1 QTY
- 4. Upper FRONT PANEL – 2 QTY
- 5. Lower FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
- 6. FRONT PANEL Insert – 1 QTY
- 7. Lower right FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are sewn with a special elastic stitch or directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity.
Sewing Instructions
- Along the side edges of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL inserts, sew a stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather to the indicated size (on the insert pattern piece).
- Attach the BACK PANEL insert to the upper BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert. Attach the lower BACK PANEL to the BACK PANEL insert, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert.
- Fold and stitch pleats for 3 – 4 cm according to the markings on the upper FRONT PANEL and on the lower right FRONT PANEL.
- On the integrated FACING piece, clip the SEAM ALLOWANCE at the shoulder seam and overcast the shoulder edge SEAM ALLOWANCE and the inner edge of the FACING. Press the FACING to the wrong side according to the markings. Overcast the edge of the integrated FACING on the lower right FRONT PANEL. Press the FACING to the wrong side according to the markings.
- Overlap the right upper FRONT PANEL onto the left and secure them along the lower edge. Attach the FRONT PANEL insert to the upper part, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert.
- Overlap the right lower FRONT PANEL onto the lower FRONT PANEL and secure them along the upper edge. Attach the lower FRONT PANEL to the FRONT PANEL insert, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert.
- Clip the SEAM ALLOWANCE at the shoulder seam on the FRONT PANEL. Stitch the shoulder edges of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL. Press seams towards the BACK PANEL.
- Stitch the center edge of the COLLAR. Fold the COLLAR in half, wrong side in, align the edges and stitch into the neckline of the BACK PANEL.
- Overcast the SLEEVE allowance, press to the wrong side. Unfold the allowance and along the fold, between the NOTCHES, sew a stitch with elastic thread, placing the elastic on the wrong side. Fold the allowance to the wrong side and topstitch. Overcast the lower allowance of the lower right FRONT PANEL, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Stitch the side edges, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL.
- Overcast the lower edge of the garment. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
