Piped Bolero Jacket with Lapels

• FRONT PANEL – 2 QTY
• BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
• FACING – 2 QTY
• Back neckline FACING – 1 QTY
• Back hem FACING – 1 QTY
• SLEEVE – 2 QTY

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch shoulder darts on the BACK PANEL, press depths towards the center. Stitch the center back seam, press to the left side and serge.
2. Stitch shoulder seams, clipping into corners. Serge SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the BACK PANEL.
3. Stitch the center seam of the COLLAR on the FRONT PANEL pieces, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Attach the lower COLLAR to the back neckline. Clip and press the attachment seam open.
4. Stitch side seams. Serge SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the BACK PANEL.
5. Stitch the center seam of the COLLAR on the FACING pieces, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch the shoulder seams of the FACINGS and the back neckline FACING, clipping into corners. Attach the upper COLLAR to the FACING neckline. Press the attachment seam open. Attach the back hem FACING to the FACINGS, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Serge the inner edges of the FACINGS and the back neckline and hem FACINGS.
6. Topstitch the piping onto the bolero along the front edges, back hem, lapels, and COLLAR edge.
7. Place the bolero and FACINGS right sides together and stitch all around. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn the bolero right side out, smooth out seams and press.
8. Stitch SLEEVE seams. Serge SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the back. Attach SLEEVES to armholes matching NOTCHES. Press and serge SEAM ALLOWANCES.
9. Serge the SLEEVE hem. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCE inwards and hem with blind stitches.
