Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Center Front Facings, the Back Neckline Facing and the Cuffs.
  2. Along the upper edge of the Front, sew lines of long, loose stitches 0.5 cm from the edge and gather.
  3. On the Back, lay the inverted pleat and edge-stitch the inner and outer folds of the pleat 0.1 cm from the edge. Secure the pleat along the upper edge with a horizontal line of stitching 0.5 cm from the edge.
  4. Stitch the Front Yokes to the Fronts and the Back Yoke to the Back. Overlock the seams.
  5. Stitch and overlock the shoulder seams of the Center Front Facings and the Back Neckline Facing. Overlock the outer edge of the facings.
  6. Place the Center Front Facing right side down on the right side of the Front, pin and stitch along the front edge, stitching from the Front side. Stitch the lower ends of the facings to the Front exactly along the marked hemline. Trim the seam allowances at the lower corners. Understitch the front edge seam allowance to the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the front edges right side out, ease out the seams and press.
  7. Stitch and overlock the side and shoulder seams. Press the seams towards the back.
  8. Stitch the joined facings to the neckline of the blouse. Understitch the neckline seam allowance to the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Tack the facings to the shoulder seams.
  9. Stitch and overlock the Sleeve seam. Sew lines of long, loose stitches along the sleeve cap (from mark to mark) and along the lower edge (from mark to mark), and gather. Gather the lower edge to the length of the Cuff. Set the sleeves into the armholes and overlock the seam.
  10. Fold the Cuff in half lengthwise and press. Unfold it and stitch it into a ring. Stitch the outer half of the Cuff to the lower edge of the Sleeve. For a snugger fit, stitch the elastic to the Cuff at the marked points. Turn under the inner half of the Cuff and stitch in the ditch of the cuff attachment seam.
  11. Overlock the lower edge of the blouse, fold under and topstitch.
  12. Mark and make buttonholes on the right Front. Sew the buttons on the left Front.
