Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the middle parts, SIDE PANELS, and brim pieces.
- Place the middle parts right sides together, stitch, and topstitch the SEAM ALLOWANCES. Attach the SIDE PANELS to the middle part, and topstitch the SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- Stitch the LINING pieces of the crown similarly to the main fabric pieces, and press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Insert the LINING into the crown, align the SEAM ALLOWANCES, and secure in several places.
- Stitch the side SEAM ALLOWANCES of the upper and lower brim pieces (front and back brims), trim the FUSIBLE INTERFACING close to the stitching line, and press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open until flat.
- Place the upper and lower brim pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Trim the FUSIBLE INTERFACING at the SEAM ALLOWANCES. Turn the brims right side out, shape the edge. Press the brims, and topstitch with parallel lines. Even out the inner edge.
- Place the crown and brims right sides together and stitch, evenly distributing the ease. Finish the stitching SEAM ALLOWANCES with a strip of LINING fabric.
- Place the TRIM STRIP right sides together and stitch. Turn the strip right side out, shape the SEAM ALLOWANCES, and press. Give the strip an arched shape.
- Stitch the bow loops and ends. Turn the pieces right side out, and press. Tie the TRIM STRIP around the crown, stitch the ends at the back, and attach it along its entire length with sparse stitches. Assemble the bow from two loops, two ends, and a bow tie according to the sketch. Attach the bow to the hat so that no punctures are visible from the right side.
