Tech. Description

Princess Seam Wedding Dress with Dropped Shoulders

Introducing a graceful women's sewing pattern for a princess-seamed, floor-length dress with a wide rounded neckline, slightly dropped shoulders, a fitted bodice and a flowing flared skirt.

When To Wear

This dress is perfect for special occasions, offering an elegant and romantic silhouette for:

  • Weddings & Bridal Events: Its classic design and formal silhouette make it ideal for the bride or as elegant guest attire.
  • Formal Galas & Balls: The flared floor-length skirt and graceful wide neckline are well-suited for high-profile formal events.
  • Romantic Evenings & Celebrations: a beautiful choice for anniversaries, engagements, or any grand celebration requiring a touch of romance and glamour.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: An elegant fit-and-flare silhouette: long princess-seam panels fit the bodice and flare gently from the waist into a floor-length skirt.

Neckline: A flattering wide, rounded neckline that frames the collarbones.

Sleeves: Sleeveless, with slightly dropped (extended) shoulders cut in one with the panels.

Bodice: A fitted bodice shaped by princess seams from the armholes on both front and back, ensuring a tailored and flattering fit.

Back: Features a center back seam with a concealed zipper closure.

Waist: No waist seam – the princess seams define the waist and create a smooth transition from the fitted bodice to the flared skirt.

Length: Floor-length, adding to its formal and dramatic appeal. The dress is fully lined; a tulle underskirt can be added for volume.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Requires precise sewing of princess seams, careful insertion of a concealed zipper, and meticulous lining construction for a refined finish.
