Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the two Center Front pieces that will be used as facings.
  2. Stitch the princess seams of the front (Center Front to Side Front) and back (Center Back to Side Back) and press them open.
  3. Stitch the side seams of the corset and press them open.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams of the corset and press them open.
  5. Place the interfaced Center Front facing on the right side of the Center Front, face down. Stitch along the front edge and the front neckline, stopping 5 cm before the shoulder edges.
  6. Sew the lining pieces together (Center Back, Side Back, Side Front). Press the lining.
  7. Place the lining and corset right sides together and stitch the lining to the inner edges of the Center Front facings. Stitch the shoulder seams of the lining together with the shoulder edges of the Center Front facings. Stitch around the back neckline and the part of the front neckline left unstitched. Leave an opening of about 10 cm at the bottom of each armhole and stitch the upper part of the armhole. Trim the seam allowances close to the stitching. Pull the fronts through the shoulder straps to the back and turn the corset right side out through one of the open side seams. Stitch the lower part of the armholes.
  8. Press the hem allowance of the corset to the wrong side and slipstitch it by hand. Hand-stitch the Center Front facing to the hem allowance.
  9. Make the buttonholes on the right front and sew the buttons on the left front.
  10. Mark and set the eyelets on the Center Back pieces and thread the cord.
