CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • BACK PANEL center – QTY 2
    • BACK PANEL side – QTY 2
    • FRONT PANEL side – QTY 2
    • FRONT PANEL center right – QTY 2
    • FRONT PANEL center left – QTY 2
    • Pocket FACING – QTY 2
    • Pocket – QTY 2
  • From LINING fabric:
    • BACK PANEL center – QTY 2
    • BACK PANEL side – QTY 2
    • FRONT PANEL side – QTY 2
  • FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING: Left and right center FRONT PANELS, pocket FACING.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to: pocket FACING, left and right center FRONT PANELS.
  2. Stitch and press open the FRONT PANEL darts.
  3. Press the pocket FACING and attach it to the upper edge of the pocket. Overcast the pocket edges and press according to the pattern. Mark the pocket placement on the FRONT PANEL and topstitch the pocket.
  4. Stitch the center back seam and the BACK PANEL darts. Press open the darts and the center back seam.
  5. Stitch and press open the vest's side seams.
  6. Stitch and press open the vest's shoulder seams.
  7. Place the interfaced left and right center FRONT PANELS face down onto the right side of the main center FRONT PANEL. Stitch the front edges and neckline of the left and right FRONT PANELS with the center FRONT PANEL, stopping 5 cm before the shoulder edges.
  8. Stitch the LINING pieces, leaving the shoulder edges unstitched. Press the LINING.
  9. Place the LINING and vest right sides together and stitch to the inner edges of the left and right center FRONT PANELS. Stitch the LINING shoulder edges and the shoulder edges of the left or right center FRONT PANEL. Stitch the back neckline and the unstitched part of the FRONT PANEL neckline. Leave open sections of the armhole at the bottom, approximately 10cm long, and stitch the upper part of the armhole. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the stitching. Pull the FRONT PANELS back through the shoulder tunnels and turn the vest right side out through the bottom of the garment. Stitch the lower part of the armhole.
  10. Press the vest's bottom hem SEAM ALLOWANCES to the wrong side and stitch the bottom of the vest with the LINING, leaving 10 cm unstitched. Turn the vest through the bottom and hand-stitch the opening closed.
  11. On the right FRONT PANEL, overcast the buttonholes, and on the left FRONT PANEL, sew on the buttons.
