Sewing Instructions

  1. Turn the one-piece facing of the top of each pocket to the right side and stitch to the side edges. Turn the facing to the wrong side, also turn the seam allowances along the remaining pocket edges to the wrong side. Topstitch the pocket along the facing. Pin the pocket to the front and topstitch at foot width.
  2. Stitch the darts on the front panels. Press the fullness downwards.
  3. Stitch the shoulder and side seams up to the slit notches. Press the seam allowances open.
  4. Fold the collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the ends and outer edge. Turn the collar to the right side, baste and press.
  5. Fold the front facing facings with the main pieces right sides together, insert the collar between them and stitch. Note that between the shoulder seams, only stitch the lower collar and the back neckline, and slash and fold back the upper collar. Turn the front facing facing to the wrong side, baste and press. Fold under the open edge of the upper collar and topstitch into the attaching seam.
  6. Stitch the sleeve seams. Set the sleeves into the armholes.
  7. Press the slit seam allowance and the hem allowance to the wrong side, fold under and topstitch. Topstitch along the edge of the front opening and the collar.
  8. Stitch the belt along the long and one short side, turn out and press the folds. Turning under the open edge, topstitch along the edges of the belt at foot width.
