Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the center seam of the lower FRONT PANEL.
- Overlock and press the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the seam of attaching the LACE TRIM on the upper and central parts of the FRONT PANEL to the wrong side. Topstitch the LACE TRIM onto the front pieces so that their edges extend 0.5 cm beyond the pressed folds.
- Attach the upper parts of the FRONT PANEL to the lower parts, placing them right sides together.
- On the wrong side of the central BACK PANEL, loosely lay elastic threads along the marked lines. Stitch over them with a zigzag stitch, without piercing the threads with the needle. Gather the fabric onto the elastic threads to create beautiful smocking, and secure the ends of the threads.
- Press the upper edge of the central BACK PANEL to the wrong side and topstitch to form a casing. Thread elastic TRIM STRIP through the casing, gather, and secure the ends. Press the upper edges of the central and SIDE PANELS of the FRONT PANEL and the SIDE PANELS of the BACK PANEL to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Stitch the princess seams of the BACK PANEL and the side seams.
- Fold the straps in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side. Turn right side out, baste, and press. Sew the front ends under the corners of the cups. Try on the dress, adjust the length of the straps, and sew their back ends under the upper edge of the BACK PANEL at the level of the darts.
- Overlock the hem allowance, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
