Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts. Press bust dart allowances downwards, and waist dart allowances towards the center back line.
- Finish the curved edge of the FLOUNCE with a narrow rolled hem: fold the edge to the wrong side by 1cm and topstitch 1mm from the fold. Trim the allowance to 1mm from the stitching, fold again as narrowly as possible, and topstitch in the ditch.
- Place the FLOUNCE wrong side down onto the right side of the right front panel and baste along the neckline and armhole edges.
- Fold the belt pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long and short sides at presser foot width. Turn the belts right side out, baste, and press.
- Stitch the side seams of the dress, inserting one of the belt pieces into the left side seam.
- Press the all-in-one facing to the wrong side. Stitch the FACINGS together. Attach the front panel FACINGS to the all-in-one facings. Place the FACINGS onto the dress, right sides together, and stitch along the upper edge. Fold back the FACING and topstitch it to the allowance 1-2 mm from the seam.
- Fold the straps in half lengthwise, right sides out, and press. Unfold the strip, fold the edges to the fold line on the wrong side, and fold the strip along this fold. Trim the dress neckline allowance to 0.5 cm. Insert the neckline edge into the finished neckline trim strip and topstitch 1 mm from the lower fold.
- Sew the second belt piece under the corner of the right front panel between the NOTCHES.
- Finish the hem of the dress with a turned-under hem.
- Try on the dress, adjust the length of the straps, and sew the back ends to the back panel.
