Pattern #5107
Tech. Description

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    1. FRONT PANEL - 1 QTY on fold
    2. FRONT SKIRT HALF - 1 QTY on fold
    3. BACK PANEL - 2 QTY
    4. BACK SKIRT HALF - 2 QTY
  • From LINING fabric: pieces 1-4.
  • From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: Press 4 cm wide interfacing strips along the neckline and armhole edges of the LINING pieces (cut strips to the shape of the edges and press, aligning the center line of the strip with the marked seam line).

Sewing Instructions

  1. On the BODICE of the main and LINING fabrics, stitch darts and sew shoulder seams.
  2. Neckline and armholes. Place LINING and BODICE right sides together, pin and stitch to the neckline and armhole edges. Turn the BODICE right side out by pulling the BACK PANEL halves through the shoulder tunnel to the front. Without interrupting the stitching, sew the side seams on the dress and LINING. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the neckline and armholes under the LINING and topstitch the LINING to the SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the seam.
  3. On the skirt halves of the main and LINING fabrics, stitch darts, sew the center back seam and side seams.
  4. Stitch the main fabric BODICE to the main fabric skirt, and the LINING BODICE to the LINING skirt, notching the SEAM ALLOWANCE at the lower front edge (on the BODICE and LINING BODICE) along the center front line. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BODICE/LINING.
  5. Stitch the ZIPPER under the edges of the dress slit so that the teeth are not visible, without catching the LINING. Fold under the LINING and sew it to the ZIPPER tapes.
  6. Hem the dress and LINING so that the LINING is approx. 2 cm shorter than the dress.
