Key Design Features

Silhouette: Fitted, shaped by front side panels, darts on the fronts and back, and a centre back seam.

Length: Hip length, straight hem.

Sleeves: Two-piece (upper and lower sleeve), set in with the cap eased; hems hand-stitched.

Closure: Single-breasted, three large plastic snaps sewn on so the stitches show on the right side of the front and facing.

Pockets: Two patch pockets on the lower fronts, each with an all-in-one top facing topstitched along the upper edge, edgestitched to the front.

Back: Centre back seam and two darts.

Finishing: Front facings joined to a back neckline facing; inner facing edges trimmed to 0.5 cm, overlocked and hand-stitched to the seam allowances and hem. Hem allowance hand-stitched.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. A collar with lapels set between the jacket and the facings, two-piece set-in sleeves and a hand-finished hem, in an unlined jacket where the seams stay visible from the inside.
