Sewing Instructions
- General recommendations. Cut pieces from shiny knit fabric are stitched with an elastic special stitch or a narrow zigzag stitch.
- Stitch darts.
- Complete side and shoulder SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- Turn up and topstitch the hem allowance.
- Cleanly stitch the COLLAR along the outer contour and, bringing the open edges together, baste it into the neckline.
- Turn the integrated FACINGS to the right side and stitch them to the neckline edge over the COLLAR. From the ends of the FACINGS, stitch the COLLAR into the BACK PANEL neckline.
- Turn the FACINGS to the wrong side, sew to the bottom edge of the blouse and the SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- SLEEVES with CUFFS. Make a slit on each SLEEVE. Unfold the slit into a straight line. Fold the BIAS BINDING for the SLEEVE slit with the SLEEVE right sides together and stitch the SLEEVE along the longitudinal edge of the binding as close as possible to the edge of the slit. Press the binding over the stitching line, turn to the wrong side, enclose the edge, turn under and sew over the stitching line, edge width 0.5 cm. From the wrong side of the SLEEVE, stitch both halves of the edge diagonally at the top of the slit. Turn the edge of the front slit to the wrong side and baste to the bottom edge of the SLEEVE.
- Complete the SLEEVE seam. At the bottom edge of the SLEEVE, make and baste a pleat.
- Fold the CUFF in half lengthwise and cleanly stitch along the short edges. Stitch the outer half of the CUFF to the bottom edge of the SLEEVE, turn under the inner half and sew over the stitching line.
- Set in the SLEEVES, easing at the cap and catching the BIAS BINDING made of LINING fabric in the cap area. Press the SLEEVE setting SEAM ALLOWANCES in the cap area towards the SLEEVE, and the BIAS BINDING towards the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL.
- Sew on shoulder pads.
- Along the placket of the right FRONT PANEL, overcast 5 buttonholes, and overcast 2 buttonholes on each CUFF.
