ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can range from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
Fabric & Materials
YOU WILL NEED: Printed viscose crepe-georgette, 140 cm wide - to determine the length of material needed for cutting the garment, lay out the paper patterns on the fabric width and determine the required length; elastic TRIM STRIP, 3 mm wide; 3 small buttons. Material recommendations: light, sheer blouse fabrics.
CUTTER'S MUST
- FRONT PANEL - 2 QTY
- BACK PANEL - 2 QTY
- SLEEVE FLOUNCE - 2 QTY
- SLEEVE - 2 QTY
- Additionally: a) BIAS BINDING for finishing the neckline edge, 1.00 m long and 4.5 cm wide, including SEAM ALLOWANCES.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the center back seam.
- Stitch the darts.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams.
- Turn the integrated FACINGS of the front edges to the wrong side and fold along the fold lines. Press the edges. Baste the FACINGS to the neckline edge, placing basting stitches along the FRONT PANELS along the marked neckline line.
- Finish the neckline edge. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the upper neckline edge. Fold the BIAS BINDING in half lengthwise and press. Pin the folded BIAS BINDING to the neckline edges and stitch at a distance of 0.75 cm. Press the BIAS BINDING upwards, turn under the ends of the BIAS BINDING. Turn the BIAS BINDING, enclosing the seam allowances, to the wrong side, baste above the stitching line and topstitch from the right side of the blouse along the stitching line.
- On the FLOUNCE of each SLEEVE, stitch the short edges. Finish the lower edge of the FLOUNCE with a zigzag stitch: press the SEAM ALLOWANCE along the edge to the wrong side, from the right side of the FLOUNCE, stitch a dense zigzag stitch with a small stitch along the fold, from the wrong side of the FLOUNCE, trim the excess SEAM ALLOWANCE close to the stitching.
- Stitch the SLEEVE seams.
- Fold each FLOUNCE with the SLEEVE, right sides together, and stitch to the lower edge of the SLEEVE. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the SLEEVE and overcast together.
- Set in the SLEEVES, easing the SLEEVE caps.
- Press the hem allowance of the blouse to the wrong side, turn under and topstitch at a distance of 0.75 cm.
- On the right FRONT PANEL, overcast the buttonholes. Overlap the edge of the right FRONT PANEL with the edge of the left FRONT PANEL, aligning the center front lines, and pin. Under the FRONT PANELS, stitch a 12 cm long piece of elastic TRIM STRIP according to the markings, stretching the TRIM STRIP and topstitching the edge of the right FRONT PANEL to the left FRONT PANEL.
