Sewing Instructions

  1. On the outer and inner bolero parts, stitch the shoulder seams, easing the BACK PANEL shoulder edges between the NOTCHES.
  2. On the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL, stitch the darts diagonally, tapering to nothing. Tie off thread ends at dart points, press dart depths towards the corresponding center line.
  3. Join the LINING and outer bolero parts: pin the inner bolero pieces right sides together onto the outer bolero pieces, which are reinforced with FUSIBLE INTERFACING. Shoulder seams and darts must align precisely. Stitch along the lower edges, front edges, neckline edges, and lower SLEEVE edges. The stitching ends precisely at the side seam markings. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES to 0.5 cm width, clip repeatedly on curves up to the stitching line, and trim diagonally at front corners.
  4. Turn the bolero right side out through the open side seam, baste the edges.
  5. On the outer bolero part, stitch the side seams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
  6. On the inner bolero part, turn the side seam SEAM ALLOWANCES to the wrong side, hand stitch the edges.
  7. Topstitch the lower edges, front edges, neckline edges, and lower SLEEVE edges from the right side.
