Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing (waistband)
  • 1 button

Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
    • Back Half – 2 pieces
    • Front Half – 2 pieces
    • Waistband – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Waistband – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Sew the side seams, leaving an open section at the top of the left seam for the zipper closure. Sew the inseams. Sew the front and back crotch seams in one continuous line of stitching.
  2. Press the zipper seam allowances along the edges to the wrong side. Insert the zipper from the inside with a blind stitch.
  3. Fuse the interfacing to the Waistband. Stitch the waistband to the upper edge of the trousers, leaving an extension for the closure at the back edge of the zipper opening. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the ends; turn right side out. Fold the inner edge of the waistband under and sew it onto the attachment seam. Make a buttonhole at the front end of the waistband. Sew a button onto the waistband extension to match the buttonhole.
  4. Press the hem seam allowance to the wrong side and sew.
