Cutter's Must

  • Front Half – 2 pieces
  • Back Half – 2 pieces
  • Side Part – 2 pieces
  • Waistband – 1 piece
  • Pocket Bag – 2 pieces
  • Off-Set Welt – 2 pieces
  • Back Pocket Bag – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fold the pleats on the Front Halves and baste them.
  2. Face the pocket openings with the Pocket Bags, turn and edgestitch. Place the Front Halves onto the Side Parts, matching the pocket openings to the notches. From the wrong side, stitch the Pocket Bags to the Side Parts. Baste the pocket bags to the Front Halves at the waist and side edges.
  3. Stitch the darts on the Back Halves, then stitch the side seams and inseams.
  4. Stitch the center front seam below the fly mark. Press the cut-on fly facings to the wrong side along the fold lines. Stitch the zipper under the edge of one side of the opening, with the teeth close to the fold. Pin the opening closed. Pin the free zipper tape to the facing of the other side and stitch it without catching the Front Half. Then topstitch this Front Half 2.5 cm from the edge, catching the facing.
  5. Attach the waistband to the upper edge of the pants, leaving the closure extension of the waistband projecting beyond the fly edge. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short front ends and the extension; turn right side out. Turn under the inner edge of the waistband and sew it to the attachment seams. Topstitch the waistband close to the edge.
  6. Hem the pants.
  7. Make a buttonhole on the waistband and sew the button on the extension.
