Sewing Instructions

  1. Place one front and one back right sides together, stitch the side seams above and below the pocket opening markings. Press seam allowances open.
  2. In-seam pockets: On the wrong side, pin the pocket bags to the front and back pocket opening seam allowances, right sides together. From the wrong side, stitch the pocket bags precisely along the folds of the pocket opening pleats and along the seams up to the top edge of the trousers. Press the front pocket bag forward. From the right side, topstitch the front edge of the opening at a distance of 0.5 cm; at the ends of the opening, stitch across to the side seam. Lay the back pocket bag forward. Stitch the pocket bags together, catching the seam allowances of the front panels. Baste the pocket bags along the top edge of the trousers.
  3. Stitch the inseams. Press seam allowances open.
  4. Place both halves right sides together, one inside the other. Stitch the front and back center seams twice. Press the seam allowances of the center seams open up to the curves.
  5. Belt loops: Fold the strips right sides together lengthwise. Stitch the long edges at a distance of 3 cm from the fold edges. Trim seam allowances to a width of 0.5 cm. Turn the strips right side out, press. Topstitch the edges close to the edge. Cut the strips into 43 equal parts. Fold the belt loops lengthwise, pin them to the top edge of the trousers between the markings, pointing downwards. The raw edges lie on the seam allowances. Stitch the belt loops. Baste the top edge seam allowances to the wrong side, lay the belt loops upwards. Topstitch the top edge of the trousers close to the edge and at a distance of 0.75 cm.
  6. Tie-on waistband: Fold the strip lengthwise, right side in, stitch the ends, stitch the long edges at a distance of 4 cm from the fold edge, leaving an opening of approx. 3 cm in the seam for turning. Trim seam allowances to a width of 0.5 cm, trim corners. Turn the waistband right side out, press the edges and topstitch close to the edge. Thread the waistband through the belt loops.
  7. Press the hem seam allowances to the wrong side, baste. From the right side, stitch at a distance of 3 cm and 3.5 cm.
