FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: low-stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers. Neoprene. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; separating zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 1.5 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the sleeve - 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Back peplum – 1 piece on fold
- Front – 2 pieces
- Placket – 2 pieces
- Front peplum – 2 pieces
- Upper sleeve – 2 pieces
- Lower sleeve – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces. Also, fuse the hem allowance of the garment and sleeve hems.
- Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left and serge. Attach the peplum to the back, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the dart on the front, trim the depth to 1 cm, press towards the center and serge. Attach the placket to the front, press allowances towards the placket and serge. Attach the peplum to the front, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline facing and front facings. Serge the outer edge. Place the front facings and neckline facing with the garment right sides together, insert the separating zipper between the pieces and stitch the front edge, neckline, and bottom corner. Clip allowances at corners, clip curves. Turn the front edges right side out, straighten seams, and press.
- Stitch the elbow and front seams of the sleeve, press allowances and serge. Set sleeves into armholes matching notches, press allowances and serge.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
