FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: Knit fabric with low stretch from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; separating zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the garment bottom – 1.5 cm. Hem allowance for the sleeve bottom - 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Back peplum – 1 piece on fold
- Center front – 2 pieces
- Side front – 2 pieces
- Front peplum – 2 pieces
- Upper sleeve – 2 pieces
- Lower sleeve – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces. Also, fuse the hem allowance of the garment bottom and sleeve bottom.
- Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left and serge. Attach the peplum to the back, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge. Attach the peplum to the front, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline facing and front facings. Serge the outer edge. Place the front facings and neckline facing with the garment right sides together, insert the separating zipper between the pieces and stitch the front edge, neckline, and lower corner. Trim allowances at corners, clip curves. Turn the facings to the right side, straighten seams, and press.
- Stitch the elbow and front seams of the sleeve, press allowances and serge. Set sleeves into armholes matching notches, press allowances and serge.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
