Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 6 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 2.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Upper back part - 1 piece
  • Lower back part - 1 piece on fold
  • Center front part - 2 pieces
  • Side front part - 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Front facing – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Front facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Stitch darts on the upper back part, press seam allowances towards the center. Form and secure pleats on the lower back part (pleat depths directed towards side seams). Stitch upper and lower back parts together, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
3. Form and secure pleats on the lower front part (pleat depths directed towards side seams). Stitch the front princess seam, clipping the center part at the corner, press seam allowances towards the side part and serge.
4. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
5. Stitch shoulder seams of front facings and neckline facing, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place front facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the front edges and neckline. Clip seam allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn front facing to the wrong side, straighten and press.
6. Cut (if not ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and length equal to armhole length + 6 cm. Fold bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place binding with armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Fold binding to the wrong side, clip seam allowances and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
7. Serge the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
8. Make buttonholes on the right and left front plackets. Sew on main and inner buttons.
