Key Design Features

Silhouette: Straight, slightly widening to the hip.

Neckline: Round neckline with a wide band made of two layers of front and back facings stitched together along the neckline; the outer facing is sewn to the blouse and the inner one is stitched into the same seam.

Front: Front yoke cut on the fold, with vertical box pleats at the centre; the yoke seam is pressed downwards.

Sleeves: Short, set-in, with an inverted pleat at the lower edge and a double cuff.

Back: Centre back seam with a slit at the neck, secured with a stitch 0.2 cm from the edge; two bias rouleau loops on the right and two buttons on the left of the facing.

Finishing: Hem turned up 2 cm with a 1 cm turn-under and topstitched.

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, the patterns include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

Fuse interfacing to one front facing and two back facings.
Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the mark downwards. Press the seam allowances open, pressing the slit allowances. Stitch along the slit 0.2 cm from the edge to secure them.
Fold and secure the box pleats on the yoke.
Stitch the yoke to the front. Overlock the seam allowances and press downwards.
Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the blouse. Press the seams towards the back and overlock.
Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 5 cm long for the rouleau loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out, and straighten the rouleau. Cut into two parts. Adjust the length of the loops.
Join the front and back facings into two facing sets (outer and inner). Place them right sides together and stitch along the neckline edge, starting and ending the stitching exactly at the facing attachment line. Insert the rouleau loops between the facings on the right-hand side of the back opening. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the facing right side out, and press. Stitch the outer facing to the neckline, fold under the raw edge of the inner facing and stitch it into the attachment seam.
At the lower edge of the sleeve, fold and secure an inverted pleat. Stitch and overlock the sleeve seams. Stitch each cuff into a ring. Press the seam allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and press. Stitch the outer layer of the cuff to the sleeve, fold under the allowance of the inner layer and stitch it into the cuff attachment seam. Set the sleeves into the armholes. Overlock the seam.
Press the hem allowance to the wrong side, turning the raw edge under by 1 cm, and topstitch.
Sew the buttons on the left-hand side of the neckline facing.
