When To Wear

In spring and summer, over a straight or pencil skirt or with trousers.
At the office or for daytime events, tucked in or worn loose.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Straight, shaped by darts on the front and back.

Length: Hip length.

Collar: A collar folded in half lengthwise, its ends stitched, set into the neckline with small random pleats so that it stands as a narrow frill.

Neckline: Round, with a slit at the centre front finished by a facing; two narrow fabric ties are caught in the facing seam at the top of the slit.

Sleeves: Set-in, made of two parts: an upper sleeve to above the elbow joined to a flared lower sleeve.

Front: Cut in one piece on the fold, with bust darts pressed upward; no buttons, pulled on over the head.

Back: One piece cut on the fold, with darts pressed toward the centre.

Finishing: Front and back neckline facings with fusible interfacing, secured at the shoulder seams; 2 cm hem on the body and sleeves, turned up and topstitched.

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm; other seams – 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

From main fabric:
Back – 1 piece (on fold)
Front – 1 piece (on fold)
Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece
Back Neckline Facing – 1 piece
Upper Sleeve – 2 pieces
Lower Sleeve – 2 pieces
Collar – 1 piece
Tie strip 4 × 50 cm – 1 piece (cut by measurement)

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

Fuse interfacing to the Front Neckline Facing and Back Neckline Facing.
Stitch darts on the front. Press dart allowances upwards. Stitch darts on the back. Press dart allowances towards the center.
Cut the tie strip from main fabric, 4 cm wide and 50 cm long. Fold in half lengthwise and press. Fold long edges inwards and press. Stitch 0.2 cm from the edge. Cut it into two ties.
Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
Stitch the shoulder seams of the Front Neckline Facing and Back Neckline Facing. Press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge.
Fold the Collar lengthwise right sides together and stitch the corners. Trim allowances, turn right side out and press. Stitch the Collar into the neckline, laying random small pleats.
Place the facing on the blouse right sides together and stitch around the neckline and the neckline slit, inserting the ties. Trim allowances, clip curves, turn the facing to the wrong side. Secure the facing to the shoulder seams.
Stitch the Upper Sleeve and Lower Sleeve together. Overlock allowance and press upwards. Stitch sleeve seams, press towards the back and overlock. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overlock.
Overlock the bottom of the garment and sleeves, fold inwards and topstitch.
