Key Design Features

Silhouette: Semi-fitted at the back with darts, slightly flaring at the front over the gathered lower panel.

Length: Hip length, with a rounded high-low hem.

Neckline: Round, finished with a narrow band of outer and inner facings: the outer layer is stitched to the neckline, the inner layer turned under and topstitched over the seam.

Sleeves: Set-in, three-quarter length, with a 1.5 cm hem allowance.

Front: Each front has a princess seam stitched only down to a mark; below it the side part hangs free with a rounded edge, its seam allowance topstitched 0.5 cm from the edge. Under it sits a lower front panel gathered along its top edge and joined to a lower front facing, held by topstitching from the right side.

Closure: Centre front placket, folded in half and topstitched over its seam, closed with buttons; buttonholes on the right front.

Back: One piece cut on the fold, shaped with two vertical darts pressed toward the centre.

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve – 1.5 cm, other seams – 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

Fuse fusible interfacing to the corresponding pieces.
Stitch the darts on the Back. Press the darts towards the center.
On the Lower Front, clip the seam allowance at the side-seam mark. Serge the allowance from the mark down to the lower edge, turn it to the inside and topstitch. Sew a line of stitching with loosened upper tension along the upper edge of the Lower Front and gather. Place the Lower Front Facing on the front, right side down, and stitch along the lower edge. Turn the facing to the wrong side. Stitch the Lower Front to the upper edge of the facing. Serge the seam allowance. Topstitch from the right side, securing the facing and the lower front.
Stitch the front princess seam down to the lower mark. Serge the seam allowance and press it towards the side seam. Topstitch the seam allowance onto the free-hanging part of the front 0.5 cm from the edge.
Press the Front Plackets in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Stitch the outer edge of the placket to the front. Press the seam towards the placket. Turn under the inner edge of the placket and topstitch it over the seam.
Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press the allowances towards the back and serge.
Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings (Back Neckline Facing and Front Neck Facing), press the allowances open. Place the outer and inner facings right sides together and stitch along the outer edge, starting and ending exactly at the marked neckline seam line. Clip the allowances on the curves. Turn the facing right side out and press.
Stitch the outer facing to the neckline, turn under the open edge of the inner facing and topstitch it over the seam.
Stitch the sleeve seam, press the allowances towards the back and serge. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press the allowances and serge.
Serge the hem edge of the blouse, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
Make buttonholes on the right front and sew the buttons on the left front.
