A women's hip-length blouse with short cut-on sleeves, a round neckline finished with a topstitched facing and an off-centre front pleat stitched down from the neckline and trimmed with five buttons.

When To Wear

In spring and summer, worn loose over trousers, jeans or a straight skirt.
At the office under an open jacket or cardigan.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Straight, loose fit, slightly shaped at the side seams.

Length: Hip length.

Neckline: Round, finished with a front and back neck facing turned to the inside and topstitched to the blouse 1 cm from the facing's outer edge.

Sleeves: Short sleeves cut in one with the front and back, with no armhole seam.

Front: One asymmetrical piece with a single vertical pleat off the centre, its depth turned towards the centre. The pleat is stitched from the neckline to the end of the button marking and falls open below to the hem. Five buttons are sewn along the stitched part; there is no opening.

Back: One piece cut on the fold, with no centre back seam.

Finishing: Shoulder and side seams pressed towards the back and overlocked; hem and sleeve edges overlocked, turned up and topstitched.

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem allowance for the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm, other seams 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches – they must match! Inscriptions on the patterns are made on the right side!

From main fabric:

Sewing Instructions

Fuse interfacing to the Front Neck Facing and Back Neckline Facing.
Fold, press and stitch the pleat on the Front from the neckline edge to the end of the button marking (pleat depth turned towards the center).
Stitch the shoulder and side seams, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings and press the allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the facings on the garment right sides together and stitch along the neckline. Clip the allowances at the curves, turn the facings to the wrong side and press. Topstitch the facing to the garment 1 cm from its outer edge.
Overlock the lower edges of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
Sew on the buttons as marked.
