FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the dress bottom edge – 3.0 cm, allowance along the vent – 6 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back – 2 pieces
    • Side back - 2 pieces
    • Lower back – 2 pieces
    • Center front - 2 pieces
    • Side front - 2 pieces
    • Lower front – 1 piece on fold
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing - 1 piece
    • Sleeve facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams. Overlock allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the dart on the lower back. Press the dart depth towards the center. Stitch the upper and lower back pieces. Overlock allowances and press upwards.
  3. Overlock the center back seam separately on each piece. On the left back piece, along the vertical edge of the vent, trim 5 cm. On both back pieces, reinforce the vent with interfacing on the wrong side. On the right side, mark the center seam line (vent fold line). Press the left piece along the vent fold line, and on the right piece, press only the allowance of the right side of the vent (6 cm) to the wrong side. Align the pieces along the center seam and secure at the upper edge of the vent. Overlock the vent allowances. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the vent corner. Clip the corner of the vent seam allowance on the right piece. Press open the center seam allowances, press the vent allowances and secure them with machine stitching. Insert the zipper.
  4. Stitch the dart on the center front piece. Press the dart depth upwards. Stitch the front princess seams. Overlock allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the center front seam. Press allowances open and overlock. On the lower front piece, stitch the darts, press the depths towards the center. Stitch the upper and lower front pieces. Overlock allowance and press upwards.
  5. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  6. Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the facing on the garment right sides together. Stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves and corners. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Secure the facing to the main garment at the shoulder seams and center back seam.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock allowance and press. Stitch the sleeve facing into a loop, overlock the outer edge. Place the facing on the sleeve right sides together and secure at the lower edge. Make a slit according to the mark. Stitch the sleeve hem, along the slit, stitching is done 0.1-0.2 cm from the edge.
  8. Set the sleeve into the armhole, matching notches. Overlock allowance and press.
  9. Overlock the bottom edge of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
