High Neck Flared Sleeve Dress

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the dress bottom and sleeve bottom — 1.2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Upper back part - 2 pieces
  • Lower back part – 2 pieces
  • Upper front part - 1 piece
  • Lower front part – 1 piece on fold
  • Back neckline facing — 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing — 1 piece
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back neckline facing — 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing — 1 piece
  • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Stitch darts on the upper back and front parts, press seam allowances towards the center.
3. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, press seam allowances upwards and overcast. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
4. Overcast the center edges of the back separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
5. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
6. Stitch shoulder seams of the back and front neckline facings, clip seam allowances at curves and press open. Overcast the outer edge.
7. Place the facing on the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side, smooth out, and press. Secure the facing to the garment at the shoulder seams and to the zipper tape.
8. Stitch, press, and overcast the sleeve seam. Set sleeves into armholes according to notches, easing the sleeve cap, overcast seam allowances.
9. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment and the sleeve hem, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
