FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: thin denim fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front hem facing – 1 piece
    • Back hem facing – 1 piece
    • Back sleeve facing – 2 pieces
    • Front sleeve facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the neckline facing pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the front piece. Press dart allowances upwards.
  3. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Stitch shoulder seams of facings, press allowances open. Serge the lower edge. Place facing and garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves. Turn facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Topstitch along the neckline and the width of the facing to secure.
  5. Stitch upper and lower edges of sleeve facings, press allowances open. Serge the inner edge. Place facing and garment right sides together and stitch the lower edge of the sleeve. Turn facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Topstitch along the sleeve edge and the width of the facing to secure.
  6. Stitch side edges of hem facings, press allowances open. Serge the upper edge. Place facing and garment right sides together and stitch the lower edge. Turn facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Topstitch along the dress edge and the width of the facing to secure.
