Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dense blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; decorative trim 4 cm wide (approximate length indicated on the front pattern piece).

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve bottom – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 1 piece
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Collar stand – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the facings and the outer collar stand.
  2. Stitch darts on the front. Press dart allowances upwards.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams of the tunic, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Stitch side seams of the tunic from the armhole to the beginning of the trim line, press allowances open and overcast. Topstitch allowances along the slit 0.5 cm from the edge.
  4. Overcast the outer edges of the neckline facing. Place the facing on the right side of the front and stitch the straight neckline. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked attachment line. Trim allowances at the corner and turn the facing to the wrong side, press.
  5. Fold collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Trim allowances at the corners. Turn the collar stand to the right side and press.
  6. Attach the collar stand to the front neckline, inserting it between the top and the facing. Attach the outer collar stand to the front neckline. Clip the collar stand allowance at the shoulder seam, attach the collar stand to the back neckline. Turn the allowance of the inner collar stand inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overcast the allowance and press towards the back. Overcast the sleeve hem allowance, fold to the wrong side and topstitch. Set sleeves into armholes. Overcast the allowance.
  8. Overcast the bottom of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Sew decorative braid according to the technical sketch, 1 cm from the edge of the pieces. On the front, the braid is sewn through, catching the facing.
