Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, the patterns include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece (cut on fold)
- Front – 1 piece (cut on fold)
- Back Facing – 1 piece
- Front Facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back Facing – 1 piece
- Front Facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the Back Facing and Front Facing.
- Stitch the darts on the Front. Press the dart allowances upwards.
- Stitch the shoulder seams. Press the seam allowances open. Stitch the side seams. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the Back Facing and Front Facing, press the seam allowances open. Overlock the lower edge. Place the facing on the neckline right sides together and stitch. Trim the seam allowances, turn the facing to the inside and press. Stitch the facing to the armholes in two stages: first the front armhole, then the back armhole.
- Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 5 cm long for the loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim the seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Adjust the loop length.
- Cut a slit in the Back from the top edge to the mark. Cut (if not using ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and as long as the slit + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and press. Bind the back slit, inserting the loop.
- Overlock the lower edge of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Sew on the button.
