FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: dense dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interlining; lining; 2 buttons; 2 decorative buckles.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back part – 2 pieces
    • Side back part – 2 pieces
    • Center front part - 2 pieces
    • Side front part – 2 pieces
    • Front facing — 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back hem facing — 2 pieces
    • Front hem facing — 2 pieces
    • Back belt part – 1 piece
    • Front belt part – 2 pieces
  • From lining fabric:
    • Center back part – 2 pieces
    • Side back part – 2 pieces
    • Side front part – 2 pieces

    ATTENTION! Lining pieces are cut according to the main fabric patterns without facings.

  • FROM FUSIBLE INTERLINING:
    • Front facing — 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back hem facing — 2 pieces
    • Front hem facing — 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interlining to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the center back seam, press seam allowances to the left side. Stitch the back princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center.
  3. Stitch the front princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center.
  4. Stitch the shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances towards the back.
  5. Stitch the lining's princess seams for back and front, press seam allowances towards the center of the pieces. Attach the hem facings to the lining pieces, press seam allowances upwards. Stitch the center back seam, press seam allowances to the left side. Attach the back neckline facing and front facings to the lining, press seam allowances towards the main fabric. Stitch the shoulder and side seams, leaving an opening in the left side seam.
  6. Place the garment and lining right sides together and stitch along the front edge, neckline, and hem. Clip seam allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the vest right side out, straighten, and press.
  7. Finish the armhole in 2 steps through the opening in the side seam: the back armhole from shoulder seam to side seam, and the front armhole from shoulder seam to side seam. Close the opening.
  8. On the front pieces, make buttonholes according to markings. Sew on buttons.
  9. Fold the back belt piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side. Turn right side out, straighten, and press. Overcast the short sides. Fold the front belt pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side and one short side. Turn right side out, straighten, and press. Overcast the short sides. Thread the overcast belt sides through the buckle and topstitch, folding under and topstitching the overcast edge.
