Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Stitch darts on the upper back part. Press dart depths towards the center. Stitch the center seam of the upper back parts, press allowances to the left and overcast.
  2. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Stitch the right side seam. Overcast allowances and press towards the back.
  3. On lining pieces, stitch the right side and shoulder seams. Face the neckline with lining. Clip allowances at corners, turn to the right side. Face armholes in two steps: first front armholes, then back armholes. Form pleats (depths directed towards the side seam). Overlap the right front piece over the left and secure along the lower edge. Trim the lower edge of the front piece.
  4. Stitch the right side seams of the skirts, matching them: upper with upper back skirt, middle with middle back skirt, etc. Overcast allowances and press towards the back. Overcast left side seams separately and stitch from the zipper mark to the bottom. Overcast the bottom edge, fold inwards and topstitch. Or finish with a narrow rolled hem. Overlap the right part over the left and secure along the upper edge.
  5. Attach the skirt to the front piece. Overcast the allowance and press upwards.
  6. Insert the zipper into the left side seam.
  7. Overcast the allowance of the lower skirt edge, press to the wrong side and topstitch or finish with a narrow rolled hem.
  8. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the waistband right side out and press. Hand-stitch the opening closed.
