If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem allowance and upper edge of insert – 2 cm, all other seam allowances 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Front insert — 1 piece
- From contrast fabric:
- Front placket — 1 piece
- Back placket — 1 piece
- Sleeve placket — 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on the front. Press dart allowances downwards.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams. Overlock allowances and press towards the back.
- Overlock the upper edge of the insert, fold to the wrong side and topstitch. Place right side up on the wrong side of the neckline and stitch. Seams will be on the right side! Stitch shoulder edges of plackets. Press allowances towards the back. Face the neckline with the placket. (The placket attachment seams will be between the front and the placket). Turn plackets to the right side, clipping at curves. Fold the outer edge of the plackets to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock allowance and press towards the back. Stitch the sleeve placket into a loop, press allowance open. Place the placket on the sleeve from the wrong side and stitch. Turn the placket to the right side. Fold the upper allowance of the placket inwards and topstitch. Set the sleeve into the armhole, easing the sleeve cap.
- Overlock the tunic hem, fold the edge inwards and topstitch. Stitch rows with elastic thread.
